I am still amazed that journalist still can take the “iPod is a closed device and its users are stealing music” line from Microsoft/Real and not grill the author about it.
Looks like someone still reads the “iPod Talking Points” memos from Redmond.

The copyright law says [you can make a personal copy of a borrowed CD]: section 1008 of the copyright statute provides that consumers may make non-commercial copies of recorded music without liability. Many people seem not to know this any more.
